All of the sets are designed to teach kids about gardening and also engage them in the world around them. Wappy Dog
By · CommentsWappy Dog is a new robotic dog designed to work with the Nintendo DS game system. The goal of the game is to raise a dog from puppy to adulthood. The game has 5 age stages so you can see how your puppy grows into an adult dog. The robot dog's personality, skills and happiness are a direct result of the interation you have with it. Constant interaction is a must if you want to keep your dog happy!
You teach your Wappy Dog tricks, play games and actually converse with it through the DS game. In response, the Wappy Dog barks and moves similar to a real dog. You can also read its mood by the color of its cheeks. Bright colors means the Wappy Dog is happy, and when he's happy you have the ability to unlock new tricks.
Wappy Dog recognizes more than 18 voice commands and can respond with more than 350 barks. The game system then translates the barks. You can also play in Home or Travel modes, so you aren't constantly tied to your Wappy Dog.
Wappy Dog should be available later in 2011 for the holiday season.

Are Mix Pups The Hot New Toys for the Holidays?

PBS Enters the Toy Business
By · CommentsPBS recently signed a long term agreement with a toy manufacturer to make educational toys and games. PBS is a stickler for early development activities and acedemic research. They hope to capitalize on their reputation and assure parents about their toys by adding the PBS logo.
Toys will include crafts, activity games and science kits specifically to meet the needs of pre-schoolers. The PBS pre-school should be available at retail in Spring 2011. Every toy will include additional playtime ideas for parents and caretakers.
Toys will be available at toys stores, major retailers, through catalogues and on the internet.
Are Zhu Zhu Pets Safe?
By · CommentsIf you have kids, chances are you've heard of Zhu Zhu Pets. This week there were reports that these toys are not safe. That report has recently been refuted and new reports show the Zhu Zhu Pets are indeed safe.
Mr Squiggles was the pet in question after unsafe levels of metals were found by a consumer safety group called GoodGuide. The testing methods they used are different than those used by the makerof Zhu Zhu Pets and not recognized by the Consumer Product Safety Commission. GoodGuide has since made a statement that they should not have compared their results to federal standards due to the difference in testing methods. GoodGuide has recently noted they made an error and retracted their initial statement.
Cepia, the maker, says they have rigorously tested the products. There are no recalls and the Consumer Products Safety Commission has investigated and found the Zhu Zhu Pets are in compliance with a new US toy safety law that went into effect this year.
So, if Zhu Zhu Pets are still on your shopping list, you can buy them and not worry.

DJ Hero was just launched in October 2009 and is the hot new game of the year. DJ Hero turns players in to hot spinning DJs who rule the club. You can create original mixes of your own using popular songs and music from top selling artists. The game has an authentic turntable that gives you the fundamentals of DJing. You can spin and scratch more than 100 songs as you master DJ techniques. The turntable gives you features like scratching, cross sampling and fading for a real DJ experience.
DJ Hero blends almost every genre of music including R&B, hip hop, rock and dance music. Some of the artists included are the Black Eyed Peas, 50 Cent, Beastie Boys, Rhianna, the Killers, N.E.R.D and more. One of the cool things about the game is that the music is actually part of the gameplay.
DJ Hero Renegade Editioncomes withe the game, a premium turntable controller, hardshell case that converts to a DJ stand and exclusive Jay-Z and Eminem 2 CD set featuring some of their best materials as well as new, unreleased materials.
DJ Hero is for Playstation3 and Nintendo Wii systems. The game is rated T for Teens due to the mild suggestive themes and lyrics.
